revamp and reconstruction'KfW' development bank, branch kitchenettes and espresso bars, Bonn

Architecture

the project

In the corporate philosophy of the KfW, tea kitchens are important communication points for the exchange of information between employees. To meet the demands of a contemporary design, the previous tea kitchens are modernized and converted into espresso bars. Accordingly, the aging sanitary facilities are being modernized.

The 'espresso bars' are arranged at the intersection of two corridors. The existing file lifts and storage rooms will be canceled. The new, open area to the hallway is marked by an ellipsoid standing table.

The foyer and tea kitchen on the ground floor are connected by a large-format glass door, so that the room can be experienced from the foyer and invites to communicate.

Cupboards and high tables are made of high-gloss plastic, the worktops are made of a white-glossy artificial stone. In line with the minimalist design approach, there are no visible handles. The wall cabinets are equipped with sliding glass doors.
