The new building of the 'Römerkanal Informationszentrum' serves the tourist information on the Römerkanal-Wanderweg. Together with the 'Glas Museum' located in the Himmeroder Hof and the Nature Park Center Rheinland, a center for culture and tourism is being built.
The listed building complex Himmeroder Hof is located in the center of Rheinbach. It includes parts of a courtyard dating from the first half of the 18th century and was converted into a cultural and civic center in the 1980s.

In close coordination with the preservation of historical monuments and those involved on the part of the city and the friends of the Roman Canal, a cautiously designed, massive cube is created against the backdrop of the Himmeroder Hof, which is separated from it by a glass connecting structure. The 'glass joint' is at the same time a sensitive connection between 'new' and 'old'. The massive edge of the building of the new building takes up the historical course of the city wall and thus fits into the cityscape.
